receiving morphine sulfate (MS Contin) 30 mg PO q6h for chronic pain management, prednisone
(Deltasone) 10 mg PO qd, and is on 2 L 0,/nc. He is currently undergoing radiation
treatments for palliative relief of shoulder and chest pain. At the weekly patient care conference,
you and the physician discuss the possibility that G.N. is experiencing SIADH
(syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone) related to his tumor. G.N. and his wife
desire only comfort measures; they are against hospitalization and all means of artificial
life support.
